PUBLIC NOTICE
Because of a positive
identification of a rabid animal and in the interest of public
health and safety, Kiowa County Health Board is immediately
issuing a Rabies Vaccination Order for all dogs and cats.
Pursuant to the
Colorado Revised Statutes 24-4-607 it is ordered that as of May
29, 2008 ALL DOGS AND CATS WITHIN KIOWA COUNTY MUST BE
VACCINATED AGAINST RABIES WITHIN 30 DAYS AND SUCH VACCINATION
MUST BE PERFORMED BY A LICENSED VETERINARIAN.
This order will
remain in effect for Twelve (12) months. Proof of vaccination
shall consist of a rabies vaccination certificate issued by a
licensed veterinarian.
The Kiowa County Division of Emergency
Management (KC-DEM) serves as a central point to assist in coordinating
emergency services, such as law enforcement, fire, and medical services,
in Kiowa County, Colorado. KC-DEM is a member of the
Southeast Colorado All-Hazards Region.
