The Kiowa County Sheriff's Office has
implemented an fire ban in Kiowa County due to
unseasonably warm temperatures, dry conditions and high to very
high fire danger. Until further notice, open fires are not
permitted within the county. |

PUBLIC NOTICE
Because of a positive
identification of a rabid animal and in the interest of public
health and safety, Kiowa County Health Board is immediately
issuing a Rabies Vaccination Order for all dogs and cats.
Pursuant to the
Colorado Revised Statutes 24-4-607 it is ordered that as of May
29, 2008 ALL DOGS AND CATS WITHIN KIOWA COUNTY MUST BE
VACCINATED AGAINST RABIES WITHIN 30 DAYS AND SUCH VACCINATION
MUST BE PERFORMED BY A LICENSED VETERNARIAN.
This order will
remain in effect for Twelve (12) months. Proof of vaccination
shall consist of a rabies vaccination certificate issued by a
licensed veterinarian.
Vaccination clinics
will be planned throughout Kiowa County.
